New SLSQ Albums Feature Final Performances by Founding Member

The St. Lawrence String Quartet (SLSQ) has announced the release of two new albums via Phenotypic Recordings — the final ones with co-founder and violinist Geoff Nuttall, who died of pancreatic cancer in October 2022 at 56. They were recorded at Stanford University, where the SLSQ is ensemble in residence, just months before Nuttall's death.

"Geoff was perhaps the most unique musical talent I've ever had the privilege to know, and his love and joy for playing was infectious, never-ending," said Stephen Prutsman, pianist and longtime collaborator. "That same enthusiasm for life and music lives on in these albums and within me to this day."
