Michael Galisatus is Professor of Music and Director of Bands at the College of San Mateo, directing both the college big bands and the wind ensemble. Prior to his appointment at the College of San Mateo, Mr. Galisatus produced award winning ensembles at various San Francisco Peninsula schools including Aragon, El Camino, and South San Francisco High Schools, and directed jazz ensembles at San Francisco State University and The College of Notre Dame.

Appointed Director of Orchestral Studies and Associate Professor (Teaching) of Music at Stanford University in 2017, Paul Phillips is a conductor, composer, and author who has conducted more than 60 orchestras, opera companies, and ballet troupes worldwide, including the San Francisco Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra and Choir, Orquesta Sinfónica de Salta (Argentina), Paul Taylor Dance Company, and Opera Providence, as well as numerous choruses.

Akwasi Papa Abrefah is a steelpan instructor, performer, and band director based in the Bay Area. He was born in Oakland, California and raised in Richland, WA where, at the age of 9, he started playing steelpan - known commonly as steeldrums in the United States. Through middle school and high school, he traveled around the Pacific Northwest region of the U.S. playing with bands OK 2 Botay and Bram Bratá before coming to Stanford where he continued with Cardinal Calypso.

Applebaum received his Ph.D. in composition from the University of California at San Diego where he studied principally with Brian Ferneyhough. His solo, chamber, choral, orchestral, operatic, and electroacoustic work has been performed throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and Asia with notable performances at the Darmstadt Sessions.
