Symphonic Chorus
The Stanford Symphonic Chorus is a group of approximately 180 students, faculty, staff, and members of the community led by Director of Music and Conductor Stephen Sano. The Chorus generally performs three works a year, one each academic quarter. Each performance typically features a large choral work, and includes other choral or instrumental pieces. 2023-2024 Season
Fall – Ludwig van Beethoven: Mass in C with the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra.
Concerts: Friday, November 17 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, November 18 at 7:30 PM in Bing Concert Hall.
Winter – Ralph Vaughan Williams: Dona nobis pacem with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra.
Concerts: Friday, March 8 at 7:30 PM and Saturday, March 9 at 7:30 PM in Bing Concert Hall.
Spring – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Krönungsmesse (Coronation Mass)
Concert: Sunday, May 19 at 2:30 PM in Bing Concert Hall.
COVID-19 Mitigation Policy
Members of the Stanford Symphonic Chorus must meet Stanford's COVID-19 mitigation policy that states: the university no longer requires – but continues to strongly recommend – COVID vaccinations and boosters. In a change from past practice, masks are highly recommended, but no longer required. Of course, participants are always welcome to remain masked if desired.
