Studied with Isabelle Chapuis-Starr, Bettine Clemen. Master classes with Jean-Pierre Rampal, Ransom Wilson, Julius Baker, and James Pellerite, among others. Melody Holmes-Vedder has been on the flute faculty at Stanford University for the past eleven years. She is a winner of numerous solo and chamber music competitions and performs regularly as a soloist, in chamber ensembles, and in orchestras. As an educator, she has taught and directed within public and private school environments, as well as at the university level. She has owned and maintained a private music studio for 30 years, providing instruction in flute / piano performance, musicianship, and theory. She is regularly sought after as a clinician and is the current director of the El Camino Youth Symphony Flute Ensemble.
