Julie Herndon is a California-based composer and performer working with internal/external space, cognition, and improvisation. Her work uses text scores, graphics, and electronics as means of addressing, redressing, and undressing vulnerability and emotional content.
Her work has been performed at venues including the Hot Air Festival in San Francisco, Hôtel Vagabond in Singapore, Megapolis Audio Art Festival in Oakland, Auditiorium di Maccagno in Italy, Zen Mountain Cloud Center in Santa Fe, and the San Francisco Art Institute. As a pianist and vocalist, Julie has performed at Carnegie Hall, Conservatoire de Genève, and Cattedrale de San Lorenzo in Italy. She is currently a Hume graduate fellow at Stanford University.
