Erika Arul

Erika’s career as a pianist has involved solo, chamber and concerto performances, and she has recorded (with Mary Jane Cope) the world premier of Emily Howell’s From Darkness, Light for Centaur Records (2010).  In 2000, she joined the music department at the University of California, Santa Cruz where she taught theory and piano, specializing in aural analysis.  She joined the music department at Stanford in 2013 where she teaches aural analysis and musicianship skills.

Giancarlo Aquilanti

Studied composition with Paolo Ugoletti, Glenn Glasow, Wayne Peterson, and Jody Rockmaker.

Numerous compositions, including songs for voice and various combinations of instruments, several orchestral, choral and band pieces, string quartets, and the operas La povertà, Lot’s Women, and Oxford Companions.

Recipient of the Walter J. Gores award for excellence in teaching (2003-04), Stanford's highest award.
