Professor Karol Berger receives Otto Kinkeldey Award

At the recent annual meeting of the American Musicological Society in San Antonio, Texas, the Department of Music's Karol Berger (Osgood Hooker Professor in Fine Arts, Musicology) received the highly prestigious Otto Kinkeldey Award, acknowledging his 2016 book, Beyond Reason: Wagner contra Nietzsche.

The Otto Kinkeldey Award was inaugurated in 1967 to recognize the most distinguished book in musicology published during the previous year. It celebrates a book of exceptional merit written by a scholar who is past the early stages of their career.
