DMA Composition candidate Davor B. Vincze's composition "Na crti crta" has been selected as one of six winners in this year's ECCO composition competition. Davor's work was premiered at a 2017 CCRMA Stage concert featuring the ensemble Line Upon Line performing new works by the Stanford composers of Music 541.
The ECCO concerts are focused on increasing the visibility of contemporary music creators and reflect the cultural and aesthetic diversity of European art music in the 21st century. The music played in these concerts is chosen from works submitted by European Composer and Songwriter Alliance (ECSA) members. Davor's "Na crti crta" will be performed by the percussion ensemble Slagwerk Den Haag in the 16th edition of the ECCO Concert, to be presented online on 2nd February 2021.
Hailing from The Hague, Slagwerk Den Haag has been a leader in performing both familiar and lesser-known percussion pieces in the Netherlands and abroad since 1977. With a repertoire comprising hundreds of works from all over the world and collaborations with partners from various disciplines, the ensemble tests the possibilities of ordered sound and new instruments.
Congratulations to Davor!
