2017 Stanford Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition results

The results for the Stanford Symphony Orchestra 2017 Concerto Competition, held Saturday April 22nd, have been announced. This year's competition was open to all registered Stanford undergraduate and graduate students.

Winner: 

  • Danna Xue, cello, for her performance of Tchaikovsky’s Variations on RococoTheme, Op. 33

Honorable Mentions:

  • Patrick Worasaran, piano, for his performance of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. in minor, Op. 11
  • Aleksei Suzdaltsev, piano, for his performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 18

The jury commends all participants for their high level of performance and strong dedication to making music.
