Complete Spring Music schedule announced!

Stanford University is — as we all know — a busy place, and it will be even more so this Spring. The Department of Music's full schedule for Spring 2016 can now be found in Upcoming Events, with dozens of free concerts, many recitals by our graduating Seniors, large-scale events co-sponsored with other Stanford partners, plus the quarterly ticketed concerts in Bing Concert Hall and Memorial Church by our large ensembles.  

Music Lesson Auditions are now closed

Weekly music lessons are offered by the Department of Music throughout the academic quarter (all lessons within the Department incur lesson fees). Music lessons are open to all Stanford students, not just Music majors, but prospective students must demonstrate, by audition with the appropriate teacher, a minimum proficiency on their instrument to enroll in private instruction.

The Department of Music hosts over 20 performing ensembles and combos ranging from choral music to jazz to mobile phones! 

Fall quarter is when many of our ensembles offer auditions for membership. Links to sign up for auditions can be found at the Ensembles page, as well as the Department of Music courses associated with each ensemble and contact emails for the ensemble directors and / or instructors. 

Ron Alexander Lectures in Musicology for Winter 2019 announced

The Ron Alexander Memorial Lectures in Musicology feature a wide range of lecturers from universities around the world speaking on a variety of musicological topics. Each quarter, a new series is offered.
