MUSIC 273: Voice for Music Majors/Minors

For more information regarding private voice lessons, contact Kathryne Jennings, Director of Vocal Studies: kjenning [at] stanford.edu (kjenning[at]stanford[dot]edu).

Another option for students interested in vocal studies is to enroll in one of our three voice classes during the Winter and/or Spring Quarters. We offer several sections of two Beginning Voice classes, MUSIC 65A and MUSIC 65B:

  • MUSIC 65A is for students with no previous singing background (no audition is required for enrollment although you must enroll to the waitlist and attend the first class in order to be considered for one of the 6 slots in the class). For more information about MUSIC 65A, contact Ashraf Sewailam.
  • Admission into MUSIC 65B (5 students per section) requires an audition of one song sent to the class instructor unless the student has previously taken MUSIC 65A, and the student must be on the waitlist and attend the first class for enrollment consideration. For more information about MUSIC 65B, liupaogo [at] stanford.edu (contact Benjamin Liupaogo).

MUSIC 73: Intermediate Voice Class (4 students per section) is offered to students that have had some previous singing experience. An audition of one song sent to the class instructor is required for enrollment consideration. Students who enroll in MUSIC 73 sometimes move into private studios for private voice lessons when there are openings. For more information, liupaogo [at] stanford.edu (contact Benjamin Liupaogo).
