Audition Requirements:
Scales separate hands:
Right hand starting middle C up to 1st octave A and back to middle C
Left hand the same range starting an octave below middle C
If you know the 1st conditioning exercise by Salzedo, please include it; at the most 2 repetitions of each chord/harmony starting on a C chord; ascending and descending.
Otherwise:
An A Major arpeggio
(left hand, then right, etc. alternating) Lowest A (6th octave A) to the highest A (1st octave A) and back down again.
Also an F Major arpeggio; 5th octave F to 1st octave F (or 6th octave F up to 1st octave F) and down again.
Two (2) contrasting short pieces, 3-5 minutes each.
After being accepted into the Harp Music Studio at Stanford
Repertoire goals for students during their harp studies at Stanford:
Major orchestral harp excerpts required for most professional orchestral harp auditions
Five (5) major harp cadenzas
Four (4) harp solo (concertos) with orchestra or chamber ensemble accompaniment
A full solo recital 50-55 minutes of memorized contrasting repertoire
