In homage to Stanford’s rich musical heritage, Professor Stephen M. Sano will direct the Stanford Chamber Chorale as they perform selections from the heyday of the Stanford Songbook (1890-1915). Their performances will be interwoven with historical commentaries and rarely seen images from the University Archives, followed by light refreshments and a carillon recital by University Carillonneur Timothy Zerlang.

Stephen M. Sano is a professor of music at the Stanford Department of Music and directs the Stanford Chamber Chorale and Symphonic Chorus.

Timothy Zerlang is the university carillonneur and a lecturer at the Stanford Department of Music.

The Stanford Chamber Chorale is Stanford’s premier small vocal ensemble. Known for its “exquisite singing with polished refinement,” the Chorale performs internationally and has been nominated for a number of Grammy Awards. Its 25 members are drawn from both the undergraduate and graduate populations at Stanford.  https://chorale.stanford.edu
