About this event

The United States Air Force bands feature our nation's finest professional musicians. Air Force bands honor, inspire, and connect with communities all over the world, reaching over six million listeners at over five thousand live and televised performances each year. Each band operates within their own geographic area, representing America's Airmen to a global audience.

Lt Col Cristina M. Moore Urrutia serves as the Commander and Conductor of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West at Travis Air Force Base, California. The U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West is dedicated to building and enhancing partnerships and friendships for the United States Air Force through world-class musical performances and engagement on behalf of Air Mobility Command.

Stanford composer and Department of Music faculty Giancarlo Aquilanti's Overture Italiana will be featured in the program, along with repertoire associated with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and works by John Mackey, Sammy Nestico, John Philip Sousa, and others.

The U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West's current six-city tour in the Bay Area celebrates the 75th anniversary of the U.S. Air Force.
