The A. Jess Shenson Recital Series presents extraordinary vocal artists together with their collaborative partners in the intimate setting of the song recital. The fall Shenson Recital will feature Eugene Brancoveanu, baritone, and Laura Dahl, piano.
- A world premiere by Stanford faculty composer Jonathan Berger: Tweets for Talya
- Brahms: Vier Ernste Gesänge
- Songs by Schubert, Löwe, and Georgy Sviridov
Romanian-born Eugene Brancoveanu has earned critical acclaim in North America, Europe, Israel, and Japan. Following recent performances of San Francisco Opera's The Little Prince, the San Francisco Chronicle had this to say: "...[the] extravagantly gifted baritone Eugene Brancoveanu... with his unforced charisma, vocal clarity, and tonal heft... managed the tricky feat of doing most of the show's heavy lifting..."
The Shenson Series is generously funded by the Ben and A. Jess Shenson Fund at Stanford University.
