Chilnualna: Mystical Numerology, Speech Orchestration, and Natural Sound

During this presentation, I will be discussing the topics of Mystical Numerology, Speech Orchestration, and Natural Sound as they relate to my most recent piece, Chilnualna (2019), for Two Voices, Natural Sound, and Chamber Orchestra, as well as several other pieces composed over the last five years. While at Stanford, I have had the distinct privilege of working with several outstanding ensembles, including the JACK Quartet, the Spektral Quartet, Distractfold, Ekmeles Vocal Ensemble, and Ensemble Dal Niente, and I will be sharing excerpts of these works alongside illustrative examples detailing my practice as a composer.
