About this event

This week's composition seminar guest is Heather Roche, who will be presenting her research on extended techniques for the clarinet, and in particular, the Multiphonic Miniatures project. This project is an extension of a research project at the University of Leeds with Dr. Scott McLaughlin, focusing on specific approach to writing multiphonics, a technique producing two or more tones simultaneously. This approach encourages engaging with the complexity of the possibilities of multiphonics. This session will include reading and discussion of Multiphonic Miniatures composed by seminar participants, as well as a wider discussion of extended techniques for the clarinet.
