Stanford guitar faculty Charles Ferguson performs music of Italy, France, Russia, and Spain.

Charles Ferguson has studied with Oscar Ghighlia and Rodrigo Riera and was a full scholarship winner to study with Andres Segovia and Jose Tomas in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He has been a lecturer in guitar at Stanford since 1974. Mr. Ferguson has been guest soloist with the Rosa Montoya’s Bailes Flamencos, including a performance of his composition Festival!  With Ms. Montoya’s troupe for Saint John Paul II’s visit to Candlestick Park.  He was an accompanist for the Stanford Chamber Chorale recording of Rune of Hospitality under the direction of Dr. Stephen Sano.
