About this event

Ensemble Mosaik presents a concert of new works by Stanford Graduate Composers Seán Ó Dálaigh, Calvin Van Zytveld, Kimia Koochakzadeh-Yazdi, Celeste Betancur, and Mohammad H. Javaheri.

Founded in Berlin in 1997, Ensemble Mosaik is known for its ongoing exploration of genre- and discipline-crossing experiments, creating laboratory-like environments that foster artistic research. Through the regularly practiced, multifaceted interplay of instrumental, performative, electronic, multimedia, and theatrical means of expression, and diverse performance situations, Ensemble Mosaik has developed a completely new performance culture over the years, one that has become a model for many younger ensembles.

Performers:
Simon Strasser, oboe/cor anglais
Ernst Surberg, piano
Roland Neffe, percussion
Chatschatur Kanajan, Violin
Karen Lorenz, Viola
Mathis Mayr, cello
