Barbara Lüneburg & Marko Ciciliani: "Drifts in Power"

April 18, 2019 - 7:30pm to 9:00pm
CCRMA Stage, The Knoll

Free

Barbara Lüneburg and Marko Ciciliani perform recent works that directly emerged from two projects in the field of artistic research. Slices of Life (2014-17) emerged from Barbara’s artistic-research project Transcoding, a multimedia work developed in collaboration with an online community over several years. Marko’s compositions Kilgore and Formula minus One resulted from the investigation of elements from computer games in the context of audiovisual composition.

Barbara Lüneburg is a performing artist of international reputation in the fields of contemporary music, violin, viola, electric violin and multimedia. Numerous compositions have been written for her and as collaborations. She has made appearances at international festivals and concert series across Europe, the U.S., Asia, and New Zealand. As artistic director and manager of the ensemble Intégrales (1993–2012), an internationally performing chamber music group for contemporary music, she premiered many chamber music works and gained invaluable experience in programming, public relations, management, and leadership.

Marko Ciciliani is a composer, audiovisual artist, performer, and researcher based in Austria. The focus of his work lies in the composition of performative electronic music, mostly in audiovisual contexts. Interactive video, light design, and laser graphics often play an integral part in his compositions.
