About this event

Artful Design TV (COVID-19 Edition) is an online, multi-format weekly series encompassing artful design, music, coding, and making with helpings of history and philosophy, as well as life check-ins for participants. No experience is needed; it's free, and all are welcome.

Artful Design TV is hosted by Ge Wang, Stanford Music professor (Ph.D., Computer Science), as well as a designer, engineer, artist, and co-founder of Smule, maker of the award-winning Ocarina for iPhone.

This week: "Artificial Intelligence: What Do We (Really) Want?" with special guest, the extraordinary Dr. Rebecca Fiebrink. She is a distinguished researcher and pioneer at the intersection of AI, human-computer interaction, and music; she is a Reader (that's U.K. for Professor) at the Creative Computing Institute at University of the Arts London. This episode will also kick off a new ongoing thread on AD:TV regarding artful design, AI, and society. Over the last ten episodes, we have begun asking the overarching question, "Why do we design?"  We will continue unpacking this critical "for what?" in the next stretch of AD:TV to look at the design of AI, games, VR, and social tools

Please register, and then tune in every Wednesday. You can catch up on previous episodes here.
