About this event

Artful Design TV (COVID-19 Edition) is an online, multi-format weekly series encompassing artful design, music, coding, and making with helpings of history and philosophy, as well as life check-ins for participants. No experience is needed; it's free, and all are welcome. Artful Design TV is hosted by Ge Wang, Stanford Music professor (Ph.D., Computer Science), as well as a designer, engineer, artist, and co-founder of Smule, maker of the award-winning Ocarina for iPhone.

Please register, and then tune in every Wednesday 1 PM (PDT).

This week's episode: "Folk Design" with special guest Jack Atherton, designer, researcher, and CCRMA Ph.D. candidate. We will unpack folk design and learn about Jack's work combining design for human flourishing, VR, and interactive machine learning. Using a tool code-named "Reality by Example", Jack will also lead us in a group folk design exercise to create and populate a VR island with terrain, music, trees, and animals.
