I wanted to create something kind of dark and mysterious, and I definitely wanted this to be emphasized in the title, Eerie Shadows. There is no main theme or motive for the listeners to latch onto; as a result, the music is constantly changing. The sections are of different length and uneven throughout; for me, this piece is amorphous — like a shadow. — Amanda Sussman
