The Arts Portfolio in Music

Students with extraordinary talent in music composition, conducting or performance may submit an Arts Portfolio. The Arts Portfolio is a way for students intending to participate in the Stanford arts community to highlight their talents for the admission process. These materials are entirely optional and will be reviewed at the discretion of the Office of Undergraduate Admission and the fine arts faculty.

Students who submit an Arts Portfolio are not required to major in the arts at Stanford. Similarly, students who do not submit an Arts Supplement may still study or participate in the arts at Stanford.

Art Portfolio can be submitted in Art Practice, Dance, and Theater. For more information about the application process, and other arts supplements, please visit the Undergraduate Admissions Arts Supplement website and our dedicated Recorded and Live Audition websites below.

Arts Portfolio in Music can be completed by submitting a recorded audition or auditioning live. See information about both processes in the sections below.

If you have any questions about the Art Portfolio audition process or general questions about undergraduate opportunities for students in the Department of Music, visit our SUPPLEMENTAL AUDITION FAQ page.
