Sundays with the St. Lawrence String Quartet

EXPERIENCE CHAMBER MUSIC AT ITS FINEST— Join the St. Lawrence String Quartet for a series of three exceptional Sunday afternoon concerts at Stanford University. These inspiring and diverse programs feature many pillars of the classical music repertoire—Beethoven, Haydn, and Dvorák—as well as introduce new concepts through the works of foremost Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer and Stanford's own Jonathan Berger. Memorable collaborations highlight each concert as a stellar array of guest artists shares the stage with the quartet. In a melding of generations, legendary pianists Claude Frank and Menahem Pressler—each with an illustrious career spanning more than 50 years—join the St. Lawrence for stirring performances of the great piano quintets by Antonín Dvorák and Robert Schumann. Distinguished harpist Judy Loman, who has toured extensively with the quartet in Canada and the United States, brings passion and virtuosity to rarely heard music by Ravel and R. Murray Schafer.
