Adding Graduate Students and Alums to the Graduate Student Database: Javascript Code Generator

Note to the enterer: I recommend that you edit and proof data via word processor, spreadsheet or FileMaker. Then, copy-paste that info in the fields provided here. This way, you'll be able to enter text containing diacriticals (e.g. accents, tildes, circumflexes). Special characters will be automatically converted to their corresponding HTML codes for proper viewing.

Directions: Enter student information for at least the required (*) fields. Click "Add Grad" to enter another person's info. Enter as few or as many students as you like. After entering each student, you'll be asked to confirm whether the information entered for that student is correct. If not, click cancel and edit as necessary. If you catch a mistake after it has being dumped to the code field you can always fix it directly. Just take care not to delete any of the exisiting quotation marks in the code field.

When you're done entering new students, select everything that has been dumped to the code field (Ctrl + A) and copy-paste the resultant code into the text file db-grads.js located in the JS folder. Edit information for other students in this textfile. It should be rather self-explanatory. You do not need to worry about layout, formatting or sorting as this will be taken care of by functions defined elsewhere. Students will be sorted first by program, then by number of years at Stanford, then by last name, then by first name.
